The Key Priorities of Funding and Target Groups of the Foundation

Taking into account the three basic poverty alleviation ideas and project sustainability, YouChange will direct funding towards the following:

Priority One— civic education with Chinese characteristics

     By funding the research and promotion of traditional Chinese cultural education with love as our core concept, we advance volunteerism that promotes solidarity, mutual aid, poverty alleviation, and active participation for the public interest. As a result, we promote civic education with Chinese characteristics to achieve economic growth in harmony with the human soul and society.

Priority Two—community development among urban and rural poor. 

     Provide funding to the research and dissemination of new ways of community living in poverty-stricken areas. These will feature strong internal ability and be widely accessible, and focus on better civic education, efficiency of resources, environmental friendliness and interactive services, which will serve to comprehensively solve issues that have emerged in relation to the material and spiritual life of the poor in rural and urban areas and explore a sustainable way of community development.

Priority Three—support social entrepreneurs in business start-ups and foster future social enterprises.

     Provide funding to the research and dissemination of social enterprises that are committed to public interests and social progress, are motivated by persistent and innovative entrepreneurial methods, and are operated using sustainable business models.

In response, the key target groups include:

1.Disadvantaged groups in urban and rural areas

We will focus on the most marginalized groups among the disadvantaged. These include rural women, children, and elderly whose husbands, fathers, and sons have left for cities to seek jobs, as well as urban mobile and resident poor populations and their children.

Poverty is not the only criteria in selecting priority projects. We will consider each project’s continuity, influence and potential. In other words, we will look into the continuity between urban and rural areas and between generations, as well as the future of the younger generation, if we are to make our efforts widespread, pervasive and sustainable.

2.Non-profit charitable organizations who are dedicated to serving the disadvantaged

YouChange will make rigorous, in-depth and standardized project evaluations before providing information sharing, financial support, capacity building, and human resources training to other non-governmental institutions that focus on the disadvantaged. At the same time, YouChange will provide assistance in various ways to individuals committed to becoming social entrepreneurs and organizations with social business models.

3.Entrepreneurs committed to their social responsibilities

YouChange is a comprehensive platform for businesses to promote public service. It is a professional institution that provides comprehensive,  beginning-to-end, multi-layered, and customized charity services, and a strategic partner assisting and encouraging businesses in implementing long-term philanthropic strategic plans. YouChange will provide beginning-to-end guidance, planning and implementation services for companies to improve their social image, strengthen branding and identification and promote development of both those companies and poverty-stricken areas.
