YouChange is committed to explore, promote, incubate and work together with partners in developing new philanthropy. It aims to explore innovative ways in China’s philanthropy sector and promote social justice and harmonious development. Its mission is to identify and support leaders in new philanthropy, and establish and promote cross-sector cooperation networks and platforms. It wants to set up a supporting environment for the sustainable development of poverty-stricken communities by promoting innovation in resources, service contents and delivery channels. We will strive for the following objectives in the years to come according to the specific conditions in different sectors:

1. Strategic incubation: for sectors with value chains, we will incubate midstream service providing institutions, promote the integration of upstream policies, funding and resources with downstream service platforms in order to achieve sustainable development of these sectors.

2. Sector strengthening：provide financial support, capacity building and social capital to new philanthropy leaders, innovative public institutions, including social enterprises, non-profit organizations, and research institutes, to improve the capacities of these sectors.

Self-Professionalism: we will establish efficient project management and financial management systems, as well as an efficient system to mobilize resources. This is the precondition to achieve the first two objectives.

 

“The YouChange Family of Philantropy” is an experiment in new philanthropy concepts which has been carried out through innovation in YouChange's organization and mechanisms.

The YouChange Foundation is designed as a huge incubator for trigurring social innovation. It has adopted an approach of high-engaged grant making to develop existing strategic projects as social enterprises so that, after a period of development, they will become social enterprises or public welfare organizations with unity in philosophy and values, clear direction and positioning, independent management and operation, and the capacity for sustainable development.

“The YouChange Family of Philantropy” was established in order to build up and support the intermediary and support levels within Chinese Philanthropy.  Through a number of intermediary support facilities and organizations, YouChange offers support and services to grass-roots and community-based organizations in related filed, and connects those with those with resources to those in need.

These organizations and projects have developed into a means of resource-sharing service for social innovation by complementing and supporting each other. The YouChange Value Chain is a grand social cycle from spiritual to material, from theory to practice, from the cities to rural areas, a process that can involve people from young students to retirees. This value chain forms a social benefit generating cycle that is driven by the continuous cultivation of people. With several stages, it is highly accessible and can be deepened step by step. It is a great endeavor that can be passed down from one generation to another, rather than a one or two-year program.
