“Discovering Social Innovation”Raised the Curtain on Social Innovation Carnival

　　"Discovering Social Innovation" initiated by YouChange and co-sponsored by NPI was launched in TusPark Club in Beijing on July 8, 2010. With the theme of "Capital and Social Innovation", participants from the government, the business community, social organizations and the media had in-depth exchanges and discussion through forum, case sharing and the World Cafe. They felt particularly rewarding in the World Cafe for its interesting and engaging way of participation. The details of the discussion will be put on the website of the World Cafe. As partners of this event, Lenovo provided financial support for the participating philanthropic organizations and Cisco provided support in web conferencing system.

　　As the preclude and important part of Social Innovation Carnival, "Discovering Social Innovation" will be held in Shenzhen and Shanghai in addition to Beijing. The event in Beijing also raised the curtain on 2010 Social Innovation Carnival. Initiated by YouChange and co-sponsored by NPI, the carnival will become a brand in China’s philanthropy. The inaugural carnival will be held in Shanghai this summer and following ones held every one or two years in different Chinese cities in order to promote sustained development of social innovation in China. Arming at the general public, the carnival will launch "Season for Philanthropy" in Shanghai this August.
