YouChange Awards Eleven Emerging Social Enterprises

From: Web Viwe:: Time: 2010-3-18

On February 25, 2010, the final review for the “YouChange Emerging Social Enterprise Awards” was held at the Capital Mansion in Beijing. Representatives of 16 social enterprises who had distinguished themselves from amongst the initial 92 candidates were on the short list. Based on criteria such as social significance, innovative solutions, the passion and determination of the leadership, leader’s entrepreneurial skills, leader’s communication skills, leader’s planning and organizing capacities, the review focused on the goals, methods, action and the personal capabilities of the leadership while examining their social enterprise plans.   Finally, eleven innovative plans and programs were awarded prizes such as the “Prize for Pioneering in Public Welfare”, “Prize for Development Potential in Public Welfare”, and “Prize for Innovative Models in Public Welfare” etc. YouChange hopes this review will not only serve to cultivate and support Emerging social innovation plans, but also promote the concept of social enterprise and social entrepreneurial skills projects to the general public, particularly to young people.  It is hoped that more people will become familiar with the concept and dedicate themselves to public welfare. The final result will be officially announced at the award ceremony on March 19.
